INVITATION
The Municipality of Argostoli invites you to honour with your presence the memorial events that will take place on Friday, 19 June 2026, in honour of the fallen crew of the British submarine HMS Perseus.
On the occasion of this historic anniversary, memorial events will be held in Poros and Skala Kefalonia, paying tribute to those who perished in the depths of the Ionian Sea during the Second World War.
MORNING MEMORIAL CEREMONY
Poros Kefalonia – HMS Perseus Fallen Memorial
Time: 11:00
- Memorial Prayer
- Speeches by representatives
- Wreath-laying
- Observance of one minute’s silence and playing of the National Anthems of the United Kingdom and Greece
AFTERNOON EVENT
Cultural Centre of Skala Kefalonia
Time: 19:00
The event includes greetings, speeches, presentation of historical material, screening of a documentary, discussion with distinguished speakers and researchers, as well as a reception.
